I came to know Pete when he attended our day centre to run the 'Rhythm of Life' workshop, which was something that the service users and staff had never tried before. It was interesting to learn about the origins and uses for the drums and instruments in the collection. Throughout the workshop Pete was able to to easily adapt his language and content, to suit all of the service users who attended. He encouraged each individual to explore the instruments in their own way and allowed time and space when needed. It has been fantastic to see everyone motivated, involved and record the progress that individuals have made through attending. He also produced an audio CD of the workshops which, was a brilliant way of sharing everyone's hard work.

I can fully recommend Pete Bengry's teaching. Pete knows not only how to excite and motivate the students, but he expertly draws them together so they are playing the rhythms and working as a team. The students were inspired and enjoyed the day, responding brilliantly to the drumming and Pete.

I have worked with Pete on several occasions and find his talent and skill as a percussionist quite startling! He is tremendously versatile and moves seamlessly through rhythms. His warm, friendly personality makes him a hit with everyone he works with - he is able to communicate naturally and intuitively with all age groups.
